Just came back from August 2nd show at the Beacon. A great night!

Set list very similar to what's been posted with the exception of
Summer in the City. Bummer.

Donald was in fine form telling all kinds of colorful tales, about
Bob Dylan watching Hee Haw and Ray Charles delivering papers as a
young boy, even though he was, as Donald pointed out "blind as a
bat." He called Mike McDonald "White Lightning," I'm assuming cause
of the hair.

Songs were mostly upbeat and danceable. Crowd favorites were Lowdown,
What A Fool Believes and Takin it to the Streets. Seemed like a lot
of Doobie fans in the audience.

The one misstep was Trouble Man. Marvin Gaye was such a talent that
it is hard to hear anyone else sing this. It wasn't a great fit for
Donald.

Catherine Russell and Carolyn Leonhart on backup. They did a few good solos.

Ultimately the show ran almost 2 1/2 hours with no intermission. A
fun night. Now, we await Donald's tour for the solo album...
